Nutrition tends to suffer in poor economy

This was an interesting report I've heard a couple of times by KSL over the weekend. Pauline Williams, the clinical nutrition manager at Primary Children's Medical Center (PCMC) says "Statistics show that when money is tight, children are less likely to get healthy meals". and She suggests: "If your food budget is tight, you want to spend that money on foods that are going to give your kids appropriate growth."
Thin and Healthy knows how important proper nutrition is, along with proper amounts of movement and motivation. Without the motivation to do what is most important for the family, eating empty calories and sugary snacks become more tempting than saving money on the sweets.

Don't Keep Your Progress a Secret

Tell your family and friends. You’re not going to lose the weight alone, even if you ARE the only one losing the weight.
If you’ve got a family at home, talk to them about it - initially, not incessantly. Let them know what you’re going to do, and that you want (and need) their support. If you don’t let them know, you’re running the risk of them inadvertently sabotaging your efforts.
What you want is for them to help you get to your goal(s) and share in your happiness when you’ve made it past a certain mark. Who knows? Maybe some of your new habits will rub off on them and they’ll become healthier people, too?
