Car Classic And UCE Review

Classic Car Show
Saturday June 28th we set up a booth at the Classic Car Show & Barbecue at Ardell Brown's Ranch in Draper. True to fashion, I showed up late and was lucky enough to squeeze between AAA and my friend Randall Limb of Extreme Graphics. The booths were not placed in an ideal location - along the fence back behind the car line up, with the food and auction placed closer to Ardell's garages.
Only a few brave souls dared visit the booths - mostly looking at the wheels on display by Les Schwab and Discount Tire and speaking with AAA about insurance.
At the suggestion of Lynn McDonald (of the Treehouse Athletic Club), I finally got brave enough to walk around the event and hand out coupons and collect registrations for a year membership we were giving away. She playfully encouraged her friends to register - it seemed like she knew about everyone there - and that made it more fun.
Our tent blew over - so I learned my lesson about always tieing it down. I had all the strings and stakes there to secure it to the ground, but didn't use them because it was such a calm morning. The breeze that blew the tent over wasn't that strong - but damaged the tent none-the-less.
Ultimate Combat Experience
After the car show, we helped Erikson Enterprises Great Clips with their event at the Ultimate Combat Experience at the E-Center. This was our first event at the UCE and was very educational.
We set up in between the US Army booth and a beer booth. Great Clips had some koozies and razors to give away along with some coupons. It was a little difficult to get people to take the free koozies - it seemed because they 1. didn't understand they were free 2. didn't want the coupons and/or razor inside.
I'm interested to see what another one of these events is like. From the information I gathered the Saturday night was not as big a draw as normal.
